Skin
Doctors who studied identical twins found that smoking can cause wrinkled skin and make people look older than they really are. The studies found that the skin of the twin who smoked was, on average, 25% thinner than the skin of the twin who didn't smoke. Thinner skin wrinkles easier because the inner layer that adds support to the skin is thinner than normal. When you go to a skin doctor complaining of too many wrinkles on your face, the first thing the doctor will do is tell you to stop smoking and to stay out of the sun.
Tobacco crop workers can become ill from touching wet, green tobacco leaves. Direct skin contact with tobacco leaves can cause Green Tobacco Sickness.
