Respiratory System

There are three organs in the respiratory system that scientists say are most harmed by the effects of tobacco use. These are the pharynx (located in the area of the throat), the larynx (also known as the voice box), and the lungs.

Scientists know that using tobacco products affects your breathing. For example, if you smoke you will have more colds and bronchitis, and when you get a cold it will take you longer to get over it. Carbon monoxide and nicotine found in cigarettes are very harmful to your sensitive respiratory system. Explore with us now what happens when you begin to abuse your respiratory system with the harmful chemicals found in tobacco products.
