Science, Tobacco, & You
Special Recognition

Science, Tobacco & You was chosen by Surfing the Net with Kidsas one of five outstanding websites for students.

The website was recognized for having the ability to teach students "something new" and was reported in an article by Barbara Feldman in the December 21, 2001 issue of the Boston Globe.

Ms. Feldman is best known for her annual column selecting the best educational web sites throughout the world. For 2001 she selected only five sites and ST&Y was among 3 to achieve a 5-star rating.

Here's what she had to say about the Science, Tobacco & You website:

"The more you learn about the science of tobacco, the less likely you are to smoke. Florida State University has created an incredibly rich resource for students and teachers. Start with an exploration of What is Science? and then move to Tobacco & You. Best clicks for students are How Does Tobacco Affect Your Body? and Adsmart (learn to be an educated consumer). Best clicks for teachers are the Student & Teacher Guidebook (in Adobe Acrobat format) and the winning teacher/student entries from the Best Practices 2001 competition."
